Chapel - (insert team name) are Consistent.

Chapel talk - (insert team name) are consistent.

Prayer.

Introduction:
  • Select a player(s) who has proven to be consistent.
  • Have the player to stand.
  • Invite his/her coaches and teammates to describe situations in which he/she has been consistent.
  • Wrap up and ask the player to be seated.
The prophet Daniel is a great model of consistency, and we read about it in chapter 6:1-24 (read the text aloud or tell the story as outlined below).
  • Darius is the king and he has appointed Daniel to a very high position in his kingdom.
  • Daniel's colleagues are very jealous of him.
  • They cannot figure out a way to accuse him because of his consistency, faithfulness, and integrity.
  • They lay a trap based on Daniel's faith.
  • They got the king to decree that no one can pray to anyone but the king for 30 days. The penalty for disobedience was to be put in a den of lions.
  • Daniel prays discreetly, but they see him, accuse him, and he's thrown to the lions.
  • The king respects Daniel, and can't sleep all night. He respects Daniel's consistency.
The next morning, they look in, and the king says (read vv. 20-23 aloud).
  • Daniel's consistency, his faithfulness, his integrity was strongly tested, but he remained consistent.
  • This was a real key to Daniel's long-term excellent service of the most powerful world leader of that era.
Today, we can be like Daniel.
  • When given great responsibility - be consistent.
  • When rivals conspire against you - - be consistent.be consistent.
  • When your integrity is questioned - be consistent.
  • When you are falsely accused - be consistent.
