Chapel talk - We are Committed.

Introduction:

Today we have game number ___ of ___ games. It will be no more and no less than what we make of it. Your commitment to each other will make the difference in its outcome.

I Luke's gospel chapter 9 and verses 56-62, Jesus spoke with his team about commitment to Him, to His team, and to their vision. (Read Luke 9:56-62 aloud.)

• Jesus first said this will not be comfortable.
• He further said this will not be convenient.
• He finally said this will require absolute commitment.
• This is what it would take to fulfill their vision.

For our team to be the team we want to be, today and throughout the season:

• It will not be comfortable. It will include adversity, injury, discomfort, time in the training room.
• It will not be convenient. It will include long hours, early mornings, late nights...)
• It will require absolute commitment. Commitment to the coaches, to your teammates, to the game plan, and to our vision.

Let's make a statement on the field of competition today. Let's declare, "We are committed." Let's make another strong move toward becoming champions.
