Introduction:

Select a player(s) who has proven to be excellent.

  • Have the player to stand.
  • Invite his/her coaches and teammates to describe situations in which he/she has demonstrated excellence.
  • Wrap up and ask the player to be seated. A leader named Titus received a letter from his mentor, Paul the apostle, with instructions for his leadership. (Read Titus 3:8-9 aloud.)
Paul's instructions to Titus were these:
  • Take note, this is a trustworthy saying.
  • Insist on adherence to your teachings.
  • These excellent teachings are to make your team excellent.
These teachings are beneficial to everyone. (insert team name and sport), regarding your coaching staff's instructions:
  • They are trustworthy - trust them.
  • Insist that your teammates listen well to them.
  • They are excellent - leading you to excellence.
  • They are good for everyone. (Insert team name) are excellent.
