Paul's first letter to his friends in Corinth, Greece tells us about what leaders do. (Read I Corinthians 16:13-14 aloud.)
The apostle says to:
- Be alert!
- Hold tightly to your convictions (truth, values, and core beliefs).
- Give it all you've got (maximum effort).
- Be resolute (completely committed).
- Love without stopping (every day seeking others' best).
My challenge to you is this:
- Be alert - have your mind fully engaged.
- Hold tightly to your convictions - what it means to be a (insert team name) player.
- Give your absolute best effort today.
- Be resolute, 100% committed to your team.
- Love without stopping, during pregame, warming up, in the locker room, in the first half, during half-time, in the second half, and while celebrating post-game.
This is what leaders do.
Prayer.
