Chapel - Loyalty

Chapel talk - Loyalty

Prayer.

Introduction:
  • Select a player(s) who have demonstrated strong loyalty.
  • Have the player to stand.
  • Invite his/her coaches and to describe situations in which he/she have been loyal to their teammates.
  • Wrap up and ask the player(s) to be seated.

We find a simple, direct, and profound text about loyalty at Proverbs 20:6 (red the text aloud).

  • Many people say they are loyal.
  • Trustworthy people are hard to find.
  • Nothing tests one's loyalty like adversity in life.
    • Illness
    • Injury
    • Failure
    • Financial trouble
    • Betrayal
    • Divorce
    • Death
Adversity prompts some to run away, but those who are loyal press in. They deepen their commitment.

Today, the (insert team name and sport) have an opportunity to make the statement, "We are loyal."
  • Adversity will make an appearance. Possibly several times through the game.
  • Some will just talk, and others will press in, will deepen their commitment, and will demonstrate loyalty.

Let's do more than just talk about being loyal. When adversity arrives:
  • Don't run from those who fail.
  • Press in toward them.
  • Demonstrate trustworthiness and loyalty throughout the competition, throughout the season, and in all of life.
Today, let's make the statement: "We are Loyal."

Prayer.
