Chapel talk - We are Ready.

Introduction:

Continuing with the theme of making a statement, we state important facets of our identity. Today, it's, "We are ready."

Prayer.

Think about the process that has brought you to today:

• Your first days in the sport.
• Development in the sport.
• Training and conditioning.
• Off season workouts.
• Preseason workouts and practice.
• Game week practices.
• Suddenly, it's game day.

Think about the process of Jesus' preparation.

• Birth by a virgin.
• Fleeing to Egypt.
• Growing up in Nazareth. 
• At age 30 he is baptized by John. A voice calls out from heaven.
• He immediately goes into the desert for 40 days to be tested. No food, no water.
• He walks into His home town, into the synagogue and reads this scripture.
• Luke 4:17-21 (read the text aloud.)
• Jesus says, "I am ready." He gets after it.

Our team is in that same spot.

• We have worked through the process.
• We have prepared well.
• We have been tested for ___ days.
• We are ready!
• Let's get after it!

Let's establish our identity and make a statement.
