Chapel - (Insert team name) are Relentless

Chapel talk - (Insert team name) are Relentless.

Prayer.

Introduction:
  • Select a player(s) who have demonstrated being relentless.
  • Have the player to stand.
  • Invite his/her coaches and to describe situations in which he/she have been relentless.
  • Wrap up and ask the player(s) to be seated.
Hear the story of a relentless person from 3,000 years ago. This story comes from II Samuel 23. (Read II Samuel 23:9-10 aloud.)

There are three elements to this story that account for Eleazar's relentlessness:
  • He was provoked by his enemy's taunting.
  • His teammates retreated, but he stood his ground, battling left and right.
  • He battled to exhaustion, but he never let go of his sword.

Let's take some inspiration from Eleazar's example:
  • Turn your opponent's taunting into powerful, competitive action. (Relentless competition)
  • When momentum shifts scream at you to retreat, stand your ground. (Battle left and right)
  • Compete to the point of exhaustion, but never give up. (Be relentless!)

Compete relentlessly today.

Prayer.
