Chapel - Men are Aspirational

Chapel talk - Men are Aspirational.

Introduction: Aspirational = relating to or characterized by aspiration or a strong desire for something. To eagerly anticipate the achievement of something.

  • Toward what are you aspirational in sport?
  • Toward what do you aspire beyond sport?
  • What achievements do you eagerly anticipate?
  • Men aspire to do great things.
Prayer.

Paul's letter to his friends in Rome contains some aspirational thought. (Read Romans 8:24-25 aloud.)
  • The apostle wrote to his friends about their aspirations to be more than they presently were.
  • They had hopes, eager anticipation of what God would accomplish in them, and they were waiting patiently for its accomplishment.

I have aspirations for this team:
  • To win today (always the goal, but never the purpose).
  • To win championships (every season).
  • To see each player and team maximize their abilities.
  • To support the coaches and support staff.
I have aspirations as a person:
  • As as man (woman) and husband (wife).
  • As a father (mother) and grandfather (grandmother).
  • For my career.
  • For my life in Christ.
Toward what are you aspirational?
  • Strongly pursue those goals, daily.
  • Patiently, but actively await their fulfillment.
Let's each and all be aspirational toward a strong, winning performance today.

Prayer.
